Meet the team
Brooke Azzaro
Brooke Azzaro is a news reporter, producer and anchor for WUFT News. Brooke loves to create compelling graphics and digital materials. As a line producer for WUFT’s First at Five Newscast, she brought a critical eye to this team as a video and copy editor. Brooke is a senior telecommunication news major who is graduating in May. Devoun Cetoute
Devoun Cetoute, 20, is a journalism senior at the College of Journalism and Communications at the University of Florida. Cetoute is the metro editor at The Independent Florida Alligator and was editor-in-chief of Zion Magazine, a black culture and newsmagazine. He’s freelanced for Tower Publications and was a design intern at Advantage Publishing, Inc. Devoun is excited to further his career in journalism and plans to graduate from UF in 2019.
Grace King
Grace King is special projects producer and news reporter for WUFT. She’s covered numerous high-profile events, including the March for Our Lives in D.C., Hurricane Maria’s aftermath in Puerto Rico and the Pulse Nightclub Shooting anniversary. Grace spent most of 2018 interning for NBC News, working on “Meet the Press” in the Washington Bureau and the News Specials and Elections Units in NYC. Meryl Kornfield
Meryl Kornfield is a University of Florida student graduating in May 2019. She’s previously written for the Associated Press, Sun Sentinel, Palm Beach Post and The Gainesville Sun. She’s covered stories with political and policy impact, including March For Our Lives in Washington, D.C. and multiple elections. Taylour Marks
Taylour Marks is an honors Telecommunication Student. As a writer, photographer, and multimedia journalist, she takes joy in telling the stories of others and empowering the public with information. She has been recognized by BBC World News and the Aisthesis Undergraduate Honors Journal for accomplishments in photojournalism. Taylour aspires to one day work for a national broadcasting company as a political correspondent.
Quan McWil
Quan McWil is a multimedia journalist and visual storyteller for WUFT News. He also contributes news content for WJXT-TV Channel 4 in Jacksonville. He’s covered numerous homicide cases, 2018 midterm election in Tampa and other high-profile news. After graduating, he hopes to continue visual storytelling by shedding light on stories of local heroes, public figures and victims of unfortunate events. Sofia Millar
Sofia is a bilingual journalist with a passion for storytelling. She’s a Chilean native and spent years moving back and forth between Chile and the U.S. Her career goal is to tell compelling stories across the world. After working on special projects and reporting for WUFT, she developed a love for investigative journalism. She’s taking her talents to Monroe, Louisiana as an investigative reporter in June 2019. Hasley Pitman
Hasley Pitman is an anchor and reporter for WUFT-TV. A junior from Jacksonville, Hasley hopes to attend law school after she graduates. She has interned for WCJB-TV20 and is involved with UF Panhellenic, JCA and Dance Marathon at UF. When she is not reporting, she enjoys traveling and trying new things. Maria Roberts
Maria is a news reporter and anchor for WUFT News. She specializes in education reporting for WUFT’s First at Five Newscast. She is a passionate storyteller who loves reporting and sharing impactful stories. Maria hails from Tampa, Florida. When she’s not reporting, she spends her time giving tours of the College of Journalism with JCA and is involved with UF Panhellenic. Jonathan Santos
JT Santos is a telecommunications-production major at the University of Florida. He enjoys videography and editing. He is a videographer and editor for Gatorvision. He also work as an evening news and sports anchor for the WUFT First at Five Show. He hopes to be a digital media producer for a professional sports team in the future. Meredith Sheldon
Meredith Sheldon is a multimedia journalist for WUFT News. She’s produced special projects, reported for digital and broadcast platforms and anchored for the newscast. She loves investigative and innovative storytelling and has interned at news stations across the country, like KABC-TV, WPLG-TV and WGFL-TV. Rachel Tate
Rachel Tate is an anchor and reporter for WUFT News. She is a self-professed college drop-in and returned to school at 26-years-old to pursue journalism while working in Jacksonville, FL at a Syrian restaurant during the rise of ISIS. This gave her a unique glimpse into global affairs that broadened her world view. Rachel hopes to educate her audience about other cultures and experiences through her work. Rachel was a finalist in the Florida Associated Press college contest.
