Chris O’Brien

Chris O’Brien is an anchor/multimedia journalist for WUFT News from Rockledge, Florida (321 always!). The Newsroom Godfather is closing in on four years working at the station and has covered or anchored all sorts of news, including hurricanes, crime, adaptive athletes, affordable housing and elections. Chris has interned with the CBS News Investigative Unit in New York City, WBIR Channel 10 in Knoxville, Tennessee, and right here in Gainesville at WCJB TV20. When he’s not working, you can find the outdoorsy senior traveling the country/world and hiking in national parks or catching the Gators win another football game. A couple of Chris’s goals in life are to go to all 62 national parks and to visit all seven continents. His next destinations are Ireland, Italy, Banff National Park (Canada), North Cascades National Park and Grand Tetons National Park. Carla Kakouris

Carla Kakouris is a producer and reporter for WUFT News from Miami, Florida. This past summer, she interned at Afterbuzz TV and wrote all sorts of entertainment stories on skincare, clean beauty, the Golden Globes and PaleyFest. While at WUFT she has produced the First at 5 broadcast and been an entertainment host/producer for The Lede. When she’s not in the newsroom, you could probably find her at any Florida Gator game taking pictures for the University Athletic Association or spending time with friends.


Joseline Donoso

Joseline Donoso is a fourth-year Telecommunication News major at the University of Florida with a concentration in Digital Science. Joseline has been part of the Innovation News Center (INC) since 2019 when she transferred to UF. Besides working for WUFT News, she is also part of Noticias WUFT, the Spanish version of the station, where she plays the role of an anchor, producer and reporter. Throughout her career at the INC, she has been part of different series like Tú Cuentas: Censo 2020; Humanos o Mercancía, a series about Human Trafficking; Conquering the Crisis and Forgotten City. Right now, she is part of Telemundo University, an education program that is designed to shape and find Latino talent, both in front of and behind the camera. Joseline is graduating in May 2021.


Marcello Cuadra

Marcello Cuadra is a fourth-year Telecommunication-News major at the University of Florida. He will be graduating this December and will be starting his career in Lake Charles, Louisiana, as an anchor and reporter for KPLC. Before transferring to UF, Marcello attended Miami Dade College, where he began his passion for journalism. While at MDC, Marcello wrote for the college newspaper, The Reporter, and decided he had found his future career. He transferred to UF in 2019 and joined WUFT News, where he went on to write, edit, and produce his packages to air on television. Marcello was able to showcase his Hispanic heritage while working for Noticias WUFT and participating in Telemundo University, learning how to effectively bring the news to Spanish speaking audiences throughout the area. He also worked for NPR’s radio show “All Things Considered,” broadcasting current events and breaking headlines over WUFT 89.1/90.1 FM. Marcello’s work within the UF Department of Journalism has provided a path to a successful future in news media.


Anthony Montalto

Anthony Montalto is a multimedia journalist for WUFT News. Reporting for both WUFT-FM and WUFT-TV, he’s covered topics ranging from hurricanes to elections and even a political campaign museum in a Gainesville man’s home. Anthony is also one of the anchors for local segments during NPR’s Morning Edition on WUFT-FM. When he’s not in the newsroom, you can probably find him in the Music Building working on his trumpet performance minor…or at the nearest coffee shop. Follow him on Twitter @atmontalto.


Madison Glaser

Madison Glaser is an anchor/multimedia journalist for WUFT News. Madison hoststhe North-Central Florida broadcast of NPR’s All Things Considered on the market-leading WUFT-FM. She also hosts a morning show on GHQ-FM called, “Tip of the Glaser.” Madison just finished an internship at Gainesville’s local station, WCJB News. Victor Prieto

Victor Prieto is a sports reporter for WUFT News from Miami, Florida. He’s been working at the station for almost two years now, covering and reporting on sports ranging from high school football to underwater hockey. Victor has also worked as a sports writer and multimedia producer at the Independent Florida Alligator, covering Florida’s women’s tennis and golf teams. When he’s not working on features, you can find Victor out on a basketball court or a golf course — two of his favorite sports to watch and play. He’s even considered one of the best Pop-A-Shot players in the country!
